Not surprising, I suppose, him being the patron saint of the K Street Project and all.

Still, it's outrageous that government officials make the transition to lobbying so soon after leaving/being kicked out of office; it enforces the illicit relationship between power and money.

The new Democratic Congress is pushing as their first piece of legislation the revamping of ethics rules. One of their proposals is to bar ex-lawmakers like Santorum from lobbying Congress for two years. I think it should at least be four, but that's a good start. Now if the Dems would just prevent the bill from being watered down by amendments on the floor...
