Twisting the KnifeBankruptcy Bill S. 256 is a paean to the credit card industry which it leaves unscathed in spite of the latter's irresponsible and usurious lending practices.Instead, the bill catches a few deadbeats to the detriment of most working people forced to declare bankruptcy because of a medical or financial catastrophe. As George W. Bush signs this deplorable bill into law, he twists the knife in further by saying "If someone doesn’t pay his or her debts the rest of society is left paying for them". Mr. Bush might as well be speaking of his fiscally irresponsible ways. The federal debt under his tenure now totals $2.2 trillion, as he incurs more bills in our name and spends money he doesn't have. I suspect our creditors China, Japan and Saudi Arabia are none too pleased. +Save/Share | | |
