Cheney's Reckoning? From the Huffington Post:The Wall Street Journal and Bloomberg are working on stories that point to Vice President Dick Cheney as the target of special prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald's investigation into the leaking of CIA operative Valerie Plame's name.I always had the feeling that Patrick Fitzgerald was in pursuit of someone higher up in the food chain than Scooter Libby. Why else would he doggedly pursue Judith Miller's testimony when it's a well known secret that Libby was her source and that she wouldn't say anything Fitzgerald didn't already know? I suspect he used her testimony to corroborate, directly or indirectly, the information he is building against someone over Libby's head. This has been going on for two years and everyday, it's looking more likely that Fitzgerald would indict someone, contrary to the talking heads' common wisdom about this investigation. +Save/Share | | |
