Bush a Factor in 2005 ElectionsA Zogby poll shows that all politics isn't local after all:"There are some exceptions to the idea that all politics is local, and Republicans in Virginia, California, and New Jersey are smarting from a failure to realize that. People pay attention to what their leaders are supporting, and this poll shows some leading Republican figures don't wear the coattails they once did," said Fritz Wenzel, Zogby International’s communications director. "In Ohio, where Republicans ignored the cult of political personalities and focused instead on weaknesses in the ballot initiatives there, they posted impressive victories and are seen by voters as an organized, effective force."Bush is clearly a liability. Any Republican running in '06 better think hard before getting cozy with him. Of course any smart Democrat should mention his/her Republican opponent in the same breath as Bush until the electorate think of them as twins. +Save/Share | | |
