Bush: "We've Never Been Stay The Course"

Say what?

STEPHANOPOULOS: James Baker says that he’s looking for something between “cut and run” and “stay the course.”

BUSH: Well, hey, listen, we’ve never been “stay the course,” George. We have been — we will complete the mission, we will do our job, and help achieve the goal, but we’re constantly adjusting to tactics. Constantly.

It takes an incredible amount of cynicism to believe that the majority of us who are informed and sane enough would still buy this verbal sleight of hand. As Kevin Hayden says:

Historical revisionism in action is amazing to watch. Next, we’ll hear ‘it was never about WMD, which those Democrats claim.’ And ‘If Bill Clinton had listened to the daily briefings, he would have known Osama was going to crash planes into buildings.’

My name is George Washington Bush and I approved this amazing display of bullshit.
