Bush told Americans he was sending 21,500 more U.S. troops to Iraq but after dozens more death squad killings in the past day, Iraqis questioned on Thursday what difference they would make. [...]WaPo: As of Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2007, at least 3,017 members of the U.S. military have died since the beginning of the Iraq war in March 2003, according to an Associated Press count. The figure includes seven military civilians. At least 2,423 died as a result of hostile action, according to the military's numbers.Actually, make that 3,018: A 13th Sustainment Command (Expeditionary) Soldier was killed by an improvised explosive device while conducting operations outside of Fallujah, Iraq, Jan. 9.
