God Hates America

Staff Sgt. Christoper Piper, 43, served in both Afghanistan and Iraq and was awarded a bronze star for his combat service. The Green Beret died when his convoy was bombed June 3 in Afghanistan and a right-wing Protestant Christian church group from Topeka, Kansas is planning to demonstrate at Piper's funeral services at the Old North Church. They claim U.S. soldiers like Piper are dying because the country is being punished for its tolerance of what they see as immoral behavior, such as homosexuality.Crazy antics like this aren't new to these guys, members of the Westboro Baptist Church headed by Fred Phelps who gives new meaning to the term fundamentalist Christian extremist.

Phelps is infamous for trying to erect a "monument dedicated to Matthew Shepard's entry into hell" in Casper, Wyoming. Matthew Shepard was the 21-year old beaten to death because he was gay.

Soldiers are dying because the country is immoral? I presume the protesters consider themselves the moral and righteous ones.

A couple of them seem to be old enough and able bodied enough to enlist. Perhaps they can sign up and show us sinners how not to die in war?
