Moving Goalposts

Leave it to Tbogg to sum up George W. Bush's flip flopping flip flop quite nicely:

"If anyone in this administration was involved in it, they would no longer be in this administration."

Okay, how about:

"If somebody did leak classified information, I'd like to know it, and we'll take the appropriate action."

Wait a minute, we meant:

"If someone committed a crime, they will no longer work in my administration."Which will become:"If the indicted member of the administration is found guilty, they will asked to resign."

Whoops. Clarification:

"The Administration will not employ any official who is unanimously found guilty of commiting a treasonous offense against this great country of ours."

Moving on:

"There is no room in this administration for a member who has run out of appeals after having been found guilty of this allegedly heinous crime."

Finally:

"Our long national nightmare is over and we appreciate the efforts of Special Counsel Peter Fitzgerald in his efforts to convict and jail the administration official who paid political games with top secret information in an effort to smear a political foe who, quite frankly. had it coming to him and his Islamofacist-loving bitch wife."

"Unless the administration official's name is Karl."
